Yes! We believe that everyone has something to offer. We’re happy to plan volunteering and/or cultural experiences with the interests of children in mind.
Yes! While we are willing to work with anyone with a heart for serving others, our directors are personally Christian and have a lot of experience working with church groups and mission teams. For example, we would be happy to help coordinate daily reflection times and church visits as part of your trip, if that’s something you want.
Roatán is a popular tourist destination. Imagine you were taking a trip to another tourist destination like Chicago or London. You’d probably feel pretty safe, but you’d be careful about which parts you visited, who you went with, and what time of day you were there. In the same way, we’ll only go places our local guides are very familiar and comfortable with.
Roatán is located far from the major cities of mainland Honduras – so we don’t experience the gang activity or violence associated with some of those areas. In our many years of leading trips, we’ve never encountered any unsafe situations with our groups.
That being said, we understand that anything unfamiliar can be scary. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need to talk through any fears you have regarding safety.

Here are a couple things to keep in mind:
- Because of airline baggage fees, it can sometimes cost more to transport items than they are worth.
- Every shirt or toy you bring means that local vendors who depend on selling these things will sell one less item.
If you have the time, the best way to donate items is by purchasing them from a local marketplace on Roatán. This way, you can save on baggage fees, contribute to the local economy, and experience another part of life on the island. A win for everyone!
On the other hand, there are certain tools and specialty items that are not already available in Roatán. These would be very welcome. If you have questions about specific items, please contact us.
